This may be in the wrong place, but I couldn't find a community for topics related to the tech support site. If it is, Toby Metcalf, please move it.
I get email notifications about new or updated KB articles relevent to topics I've chosen. It seems that frequently these notifications link to articles that were published prematurely. There is a title, and nothing more. The title and description match completely but don't adequately describe what the article is about. Sometimes it even refers to an SPR, but there is no link to the SPR. It's as if the article was created as a place holder, but there wasn't enough information to complete it yet.
Is it possible that these kind of preliminary articles can be made hidden until there's some real information to share? It's frustrating to click a link to learn more and find that there is no more to learn.
Hi all,
I'm test the feature "shell Properties" and "Material Orientation" for a simple part.
The example is attached
When put the boundary conditions... I believe that all is correct, more or less I followed the steps of other post in "PTC User Community" about composite and layer properties.
Finally I don't understand the results... because it should to have moving straight and not to turn.
See the images in the files attached.
I hope you can help me.
Thanks

I am having no success at using a .rcp fle to export geometry to a .pvz file that is not manufacturable or revere engineerable?
Any insights?
Thanks,

Hi Everyone,
I have a question regarding inserting picture captions in Integrity like in MS Word.
I am writing my system requirements in Integrity LCM and would like to export these requirements later in MS WORD. But i couldn't find the possibility to add Picture or Image captions in Integrity.
Could anyone has any clue about it?
Many thanks for your valuable suggestons and the time.
Best regards,
Rama
I'm trying to use Ordinate dimensions in my Drawing State. However, the Ordinate option is not available and I can't determine the proper selection order to make it available. You can see in the attached screenshot that "Ordinate" is grayed out.
Anyone have any experience creating Ordinate dimensions in a drawing state? Your help is appreciated.
Thanks.

I made a mathcad file, that calculate the area, first moment of area (whole), second moment of area, centroidal axis etc.
All only depending on the coördinates that you choose.
It is usefull to quickly see the moment of inertia of each shape and apply this in further calculations.
But for futher calculation, now i want to know the First moment of area (S), some call this the static moment, over the height.
This to easy see the critical points of the beam. In case of shear.
Hope that you are able to help me.
Dear Experts,
We have few departments with Creo 2.0 M120 and a specific set of users wanted to use advanced features which is available in latest Creo version [Creo 2.0 M220].
Is there any risk for the Data Integrity to use multiple date code of same version Creo ?
Thanks
Hey folks,
I'm trying to work with named paste buffers in a callback to manipulate content before it is output to the current doc.
I'm finding that Arbortext is getting confused on which is the current doc depending upon what actions I'm performing.
For instance, if I do oid_delete(some_oid), it removes the oid from the buffer. However, if I do a change_tag, it wants to act upon the document currently open in the window. I thought this was perhaps an issue with commands versus functions, but goto_oid() also works in the document window rather than the buffer.
Here is a snippet of my code where I am setting things up with the named buffer.
buffer_create("_temp_");
set paste = "_temp_";
local bufstr;
buffer_clipboard_contents(bufstr);
insert_buffer(bufstr,1,"_temp_");
local pdoc = buffer_doc("_temp_");
local root = oid_first(pdoc);
The oid_first() function works OK. This would lead me to think that Arbortext has picked up on the named buffer as the current doc, but as I described, it gets flakey. I've tried a current_doc(pdoc), but no luck.
Any ideas are much appreciated!
Hello, I am in need of some immediate answered questions. I hired a student to do some CAD drawings, that I would be able to use in my patent submission and be able to send the files to get an manufacturing quote. I also wanted the files to be in a format that could be edited easily in the future (after prototype testing was completed). The student is refusing to give me these files in a format, which I can send to get a quote from my manufacturer (ex. STP file) and in a format that can be edited in the future easily by another mechanical engineer.
I need to know if the files the student created in the student version of CREO (not sure which version), which he saved as PRT files can be converted in that same program to files that can be used to send to manufacturing (ex. STP file). I also need to know by which program would be needed to convert the PRT files into a file type that can be used for another mechanical engineer to make needed future changes. I have summarized below:
1. How can someone convert a PRT file type, created in Creo student version software ?
2. What file type should a PRT file type, created in Creo student, be converted to, so it can be accessible to any other mechanical engineer, that needed to make changes to the files in the future?
3. Can you convert PRT files, created in Creo student to STP files that can be sent to manufacturing?
Please answer all questions above so I can better understand what my options are going forward.
Hi all,
I've a few enhancement ideas for Creo View, Here I'm listing below.
1 Creo View can't Measure the Radius/Diameters of Rounds. [Attaching an PPT]
2 Should be able to read the Cross-sections from Creo Parametric Files.
3 Should be able to read the Simplified Representations / Combined Views from Creo Parametric files.
4 Should be able to read the Views list from Creo Parametric Models.
These are the minimum requirements any Customer looks for.
Hope PTC implements the same.

Niranjan V
Good day everyone,
I have uploaded the presentations here: LiveWorx 2016 - June 6-9, 2016 - Boston

Can the same index number be assigned to multiple parts within an assembly? These parts will be alternative use items depending upon the application and we don't want to list them as separate items. Thanks.
have a fabricated housing made up of approx. 10 parts. it's modeled in inches. how can i change the entire assembly at one time? tried model properties including sub assy's but no dice.
tried to change properties one at a time but encountered errors. anyone help?
Where to get Creo Elements Direct Modeling Tutorials?
I have only been with this company for 1 year as of yesterday and the job of upgrading the MKS system has landed in my lap.
I'm concerned because I have absolutely no knowledge of MKS/PTC at all and was given the Upgrade instruction manual yesterday.
I started reading it and it is talking about security and rights and things that need to be installed before running this PTC Implementer.
I'm thinking that the Upgrade should not require all that detailed installation and that it should be easier to do than a full blown installation os MKS/PTC?
My question is, is there an easier installation guide for just upgrading the system than the full install/upgrade installation?
Can someone tell me how easy it is to upgrade the system because I'm starting to get a bit freaked out (especially with some of the warning in the install/upgrade manual)?
Thanks in advance for any and all help you people can give me...
